Undersink plumbing

When we refer to undersink plumbing, we are discussing the parts and pipes that direct water into and out of, most commonly, the kitchen and bathroom sinks. We need to understand how this system functions so we can take care of it. Here are a few things you should know about OSONOE under the sink plumbing

Your undersink plumbing consists of a pipe for bringing water through to the faucet and another that carries wastewater out. These pipes, usually of some metal or a plastic, are joined together by special parts called fittings. Hot water comes from our domestic hot water supply and runs through the pipes when we turn on the faucet. As we wash up in the sink, the dirty water runs down the drain and through another set of pipes that takes it out to the sewer.

Troubleshooting common issues with undersink plumbing

Occasionally, there are issues with undersink plumbing. The leaky faucet is a familiar problem, one that can waste hundreds of gallons of water a year, not to mention many dollars, if it’s not repaired. Another issue is that the drain is clogged and water is backing up in the sink. If your symptoms suggest any of the above issues, it is crucial to address these problems sooner rather than later. Perhaps you just need to adjust a valve or replace an old washer to eliminate a leak. For a stopped-up drain, the plunger or drain snake might work on the blockage in the trap.
